05 · Who we are
Built by two educators who have a passion for lighting up other people's passions and kickstarting their creative journeys.
Cathy and Jamie have over 40 years of combined teaching experience between them. They've watched hundreds of people walk into a classroom convinced they couldn't make anything worth keeping, and walk out with something they were genuinely proud of. Artist in Residence is the system they built to recreate that experience and ship it to your door every month.
The site is black and white on purpose. When everything around the art is neutral, the work inside the box becomes the color. That's the point. The supplies are professional grade because a beautiful result is only possible with materials that can actually deliver one. We don't cut corners on what goes in the box because your result depends on it.

Can I really do this if I've never made art before?
Yes. Every Tier 1 project is designed for someone starting from zero. The video tutorial walks you through every step. The supplies are chosen so the technique works even on the first try.
What if I don't love the project?
Every month is a new medium and a new project. If one month isn't your style, the next one might be exactly what you've been looking for. And you can always pause or skip a month with one click.
Can I give this as a gift?
